Somalian Ministers Killed by Suicide Bomber

Today, a suicide bomber dressed as a woman killed over 15 people in Mogadishu. The death toll included "at least four government ministers" as reported by BBC.

The bomber attacked during a crowed graduation ceremony for the recently graduated medical students at Benadir University, where local students were being trained to fill the roles of doctors and other medical personal who had fled the country because of the violence.

The BBC article further reports that the government ministers were specifically targeted by this attack and the "Health Minister Qamar Aden Ali, Education Minister Ahmed Abdulahi Waayeel, Higher Education Minister Ibrahim Hassan Addow and Sports Minister Saleban Olad Roble were all killed" by the attack.

The attack has been described as a national disaster by the Somalian President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmad.

  1. this was news to me as I did not know Somalia even had enough of a government for there to BE Somalian ministers.
